Geri is currently contracting with the UN in Ethiopia, so
naturally I decided to follow along.. Very interesting place! I'm
currently trying to update the gallery from Ethiopia; this is a
somewhat challenging experience, as where I am staying they have
what I would consider "excessive filters" on their network. You
can't even get out
on standard protocols, much less in...
so we shall see if I can do it. So far, that's a "no, you
can't". So it will have to wait until I get back (...)

Jason and I belong to the Photographic Section of The Academy of
Science and Art of Pittsburgh. Our club is publishing a book
of photos from members, and we both had photos selected.
Geri had one photo selected. This photo is of the island of Kerrera
and the Hutcheson Memorial, taken from the beach in front of the
Youth Hostel in Oban, Scotland. The date was July 21, 2008.
The Hutcheson Memorial is the tall spire on the right. This is not
a panorama, but a standard photo with (...)

We have returned from 7 weeks in the UK and Czech Republic. What a great trip! And a great group of travel companions as well :-)
I have posted photos on my Lenstribe account. You can find my trip photos here:

Well, here we are in Prague, or Praha as the natives spell it. We
don't seem to have free time until Sunday, so I'll just post we are
here and that some of the buildings are incredible. Oddly enough,
the buildings are mostly coated in stucco... or what I would call
the old equivalent of it is. This makes sense more or less, but I
was not expecting it. A local explained that bricks or stone would
be considered provicial, or out in the sticks. So they have them
all coated and decorated. (...)

Well, we have been very busy taking lots of pictures and seeing
many interesting places. I have put a lot of pictures in my
Lenstribe photo album, and don't want to upload them here too, so
you can see them here: Geri
Jason made a cool panorama at Stonehenge here: Stonehenge
Here is a self-portrait Jason made at Stonehenge:

We have both been busy working on our first project - 10-15 images
that tell a story of a place in the Bloomsbury area of London. So
not much time for posting on this blog.
We had a free weekend, so are spending it in Bath (a place made
famous by Jane Austin). Here are some images Jason and I took while
First - the Roman temple of Aquae Sulis which has been excavated
UNDER the city of Bath. Here are the steps up to the front door of

In the last post, we were in the first class lounge waiting for our
flight to London. We arrived about 45 minutes late - really not bad
at all. Then spent over an hour "on queue" for passport control.
(I'm learning to speak British <smile>.) Once through all
that, then the underground (or tube) to a couple of blocks from our
flat, then walking the rest of the way.
We are in Central London, not far from King's Cross (remember Harry
Potter?) It is very easy for us to get to (...)

We're on our way! After about 6 months of planning and organizing
our trip has just started. Jason and I are between flights at JFK -
just waiting for our flight to London. We are joining our class
there - we are taking a photo-journalism class through Michigan
State University (MSU).
We registered as life-long learners at MSU, which allows us to take
classes for credit. We are meeting 16 other students (average age
about 21), and the professor Darcy Greene in London on Sunday. We

I just put together this site in July for Jason to post his photographs. All of the links should work now except the gallery. We are still working on ideas for organizing his photographs!
In the revolving gallery, if you click on a picture you like, you will go to a gallery page of the photograph with more information.
We hope you enjoy this site and Jason's photography.
